Mandu is 100kms from Indore (the nearest railhead and airport). Regular luxury buses ply between Indore's Gangwal bus stand & Dhar (60 kms) and thereafter there is a bus available every 1/2 hour from Dhar to Mandu (40 kms). You of course have the option of hiring a vehicle at Indore. Accomodation - MP tourism runs 2 good hotels - the Malwa Resort situated near the lake and Malwa Retreat which commands a beautiful valley view. There is also the Hotel Rupmati next to Malwa Retreat which is apparently more economical but with a good ambience - I have not however seen their rooms. Booking for MP toursim accomodation can be done online at http://www.mptourism.com/ & payments can be made online through credit cards. However, there are no facilities for paying through credit cards at Mandu. For the tight budget traveller, there are options of rest houses etc.,
